Our Purpose
The Racial and Social Justice team is dedicated to advancing initiatives for youth, families, employees, and victims involved with the Travis County Juvenile Probation Department.
We are committed to addressing racial and ethnic disparities in our juvenile legal system. Our primary goal is to foster a more equitable and just environment by reducing disparities and actively embracing restorative practices.
Restorative practices, within the context of supporting justice-involved youth, create a space where young individuals are encouraged to take responsibility for their actions, make amends, and rebuild relationships with the community.
We also aim to support our diverse staff at the Travis County Juvenile Probation Department, cultivating an equitable, diverse, and supportive work environment for all employees. With a strong sense of purpose and enthusiasm, we aim to transform our juvenile legal facility into a beacon of fairness and justice where every individual is given the opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive.
